Facebook to face Cambridge Analytica litigation in state, federal court simultaneously, California judge decides

California Superior Court Judge Gerald J. Buchwald said at a hearing that he is denying Facebook’s request to stay the state case until multidistrict litigation in San Francisco federal court involving similar allegations is resolved. A California state court rather than a federal court “should have the first opportunity to interpret its own state laws,” Buchwald said.Facebook will have to face litigation over the Cambridge Analytica privacy leak in California state court and federal court at the same time, a California state court judge said today....
