Beware privacy implications of EU copyright revamp, German regulator says

Ulrich Kelber, Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, said that small video content-hosting services will use software by big tech companies to comply with the copyright rules, "just as they do today with analytics tools that use the building blocks of Facebook, Amazon and Google across many apps, websites and services." Kelber added that the EU's copyright deal — which needs final approval this spring — risks "promoting, as a side effect, further concentration of data."Statement follows in German. ...
