EC Statement: Antitrust - EC closes investigation into European Minibulk and Container Feeder co-operatives

( January 31, 2013, 10:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has closed an antitrust investigation of European Minibulk eG and Container Feeder eG for alleged anticompetitive practices. The companies, which transport containers between small regional ports in northern Europe, have agreed to stop co-operation agreements before they take effect. The companies will no longer begin a compensation plan for owners of minibulk and container feeder vessels that could have encouraged them to leave their vessels idle, potentially reducing shipping capacity.
