Japanese AI startups chosen by METI to develop domestic generative AI; government to subsidize use of Google Cloud

The first-of-its-kind project will be pursued by the startup companies ABEJA, Preferred Elements, Sakana AI, Stockmark, Turing, and the research institutions the Research Organization of Information and Systems and the University of Tokyo.
