Google handled 720,000 de-listing requests in three years of 'right to be forgotten'

( May 15, 2017, 13:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US web platform Google's privacy advisor, Peter Fleischer, says the company has handled 720,000 requests from European citizens to be de-listed from its search engine in the three years since the EU Court of Justice issued a ruling enshrining the "right to be forgotten" in the bloc. The company removed around 43 percent of the two million links submitted in these requests and is now involved in two other court cases that may further shed light on how the right applies to certain categories of data, and how it applies beyond the EU's borders.Three years of striking the right (to be forgotten) balance...
