UK air-traffic price controls review Covid-19 impact consulted on by UK CMA

( June 24, 2020, 13:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK Competition and Markets Authority is seeking views on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on its review of air-traffic services provider NATS' challenge to the Civil Aviation Authority over price controls. The deadline for responses is July 1. Last month, the CMA extended its review by six months due to coronavirus as it said that the pandemic has had a "significant impact" on air-traffic volume. In a provisional decision in March, the CMA said it suggested price-control mechanisms largely in line with those provided by the CAA but adjusted in line with submissions by NATS subsidiary NERL, which provides "en route" air-traffic control services.Statement follows.
