Modernized EU state aid, competition rules among Germany's priorities for bloc, Altmaier says

( June 24, 2020, 13:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German economy minister Peter Altmaier reiterated today calls for modernized EU competition and state aid rules in light of global competition challenges as the country adopted its program for the six-month period starting July 1 during which it will chair talks between EU governments. Altmaier also said the bloc must boost its independence in the digital space, highlighting the recently unveiled Franco-German Gaia X cloud infrastructure project.
