Repsol partly complies with conditions to finalize Petrocat acquisition in Spain

( October 1, 2014, 12:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Spain’s competition watchdog has found that Repsol has fulfilled parts of conditions tied to its plan to acquire exclusive control of Petrocat. In April, the regulator cleared the deal subjection to conditions, under which Repsol was obliged to not increase its market share via filling stations in Madrid, Barcelona, Tarragona and Lérida. To comply with that requirement, all transactions except for one have been accepted, the regulator said. Repsol must now file a new transaction proposal. Authorization is still pending over whether other parts of conditions under which Petrocat must ensure a minimum supply comes from third-party operators....
