Net4Gas’s Czech antitrust proceedings cease after changes to energy law

( January 11, 2022, 10:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Net4Gas has seen antitrust proceedings discontinued in the Czech Republic, after the competition regulator dropped its case in light of new national energy regulations. Last year, the authority fined Net4Gas 10 million koruna (around $460,000) for abusing its power on the natural gas transmission market. At the time, the watchdog believed Net4Gas had hindered SPP Storage from concluding an agreement to connect an underground storage facility to its transmission system. But because the Energy Act had been amended in the meantime, the conduct could no longer be considered a breach of competition rules, the watchdog said. It has thus annulled its first-instance decision and has also suspended the administrative file....
