Domino's Pizza "urges" UK CMA to change provisional clearance of Amazon-Deliveroo deal

( May 14, 2020, 09:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Domino's Pizza has said it "urges" the UK's competition regulator to change its provisional decision to clear Amazon's investment in Deliveroo. In a response to the Competition and Markets Authority, Domino's said it has serious concerns that the transaction will hurt competition in the online food services market due to the "dominant Amazon ecosystem." Last year, Amazon was the lead investor in a funding round for Deliveroo. The pizza delivery company picked holes in the CMA's findings, saying they contained "flaws and failings." In its provisional decision last month, the regulator cited the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on online restaurant food delivery service Deliveroo’s financial position. Domino's comments were among a series of responses published today on the CMA's provisional decision. The regulator plans to make a final decision on the case by June 11....
