Vietnam releases notification guidelines for new merger-control regime

( May 15, 2020, 03:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued guidelines for the process of submitting notifications under its new merger-control regime that kicks off today. Because the new National Competition Commission has yet to be established, mergers that meet the thresholds will have to submit notifications to the ministry, which will assign the task of reviewing them to the competition and consumer protection authority under it. Submissions will be checked for completeness within seven days, then preliminary assessment will take place within the next 30 days. If formal assessment is determined to be needed, the authority will take up to 90 days to conduct the evaluation.   ...
