VLOPs, VLOSEs have until Nov. 6 to publish late transparency reports, EU Commission says

( October 26, 2023, 12:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Very Large Online Platforms and Very Large Online Search Engines that have yet to publish their transparency reports — as part of their obligation under the new EU content-moderation law — have until Nov. 6 to do this, the European Commission has said. Amazon, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Zalando and Bing have already published their reports, the commission said. Under the EU’s Digital Services Act, companies designated as a VLOP or a VLOSE must release their transparency reports every six months, to enhance transparency and accountability in online content moderation. For platforms with fewer than 45 million users and intermediary services, the disclosure requirement will be only every 12 months from February 2024, when the DSA will start applying to them....
