Pelindo II dismisses accusation of stevedoring monopoly at Tanjung Emas port

( December 1, 2015, 06:05 GMT | Insight) -- State-owned port operator Pelabuhan Indonesia III, or Pelindo III, has rejected an accusation that it has monopolized stevedoring at Tanjung Emas Port, in the central Java city of Semarang, Antara reports. Pelindo III spokesperson Edi Priyanto said the company still provided opportunities to other business operators to service the port. He was responding to a complaint made by the Indonesian Stevedoring Companies Association's Central Java office, which accused the company of monopolizing that business at the port. Priyanto defended Pelindo III's record, emphasizing the fact that it had spent several hundred billion rupiah (100 billion rupiah = $7.2 million) to build port facilities....
