EC Statement: CoCom in 'split' vote on mobile termination rates recommendation

( February 20, 2009, 13:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Communications Committee at the European Commission, made up of representatives from member states, has voted on a Commission recommendation aimed at bringing down mobile termination rates - the rates charged by mobile operators for terminating a call on their network. The Commission states that 5 member states voted for the recommendation, 12 voted against, and 10 member states abstained, and the commission says it is on course to adopt the recommendation in early April....
