Under Armour's MyFitnessPal data breach affected almost 4 million Australians, document reveals

( November 7, 2018, 02:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US sportswear manufacturer Under Armour alerted Australia’s privacy watchdog in March about a global data breach associated with MyFitnessPal, revealing it had contacted Australian users of the exercise app of the malicious breach, urging them to change their passwords. According to a heavily redacted document published this week by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, Under Armour also encouraged users to review their accounts for suspicious activity. The report, mandatory under Australia’s new Mandatory Breaches Notification regime, was released as a result of a freedom of information request.
