BHP Billiton reports on new compliance controls

( September 23, 2015, 10:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Global resources company BHP Billiton has disclosed in its 2015 annual report that new compliance controls have been put in place to address failings which had led to a Securities Exchange Commission investigation into a hospitality programme the company offered during its sponsorship of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In May 2015 Billiton agreed to pay $25 million to resolve allegations it had violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). As part of the settlement, Billiton must report on its compliance programme to  the SEC for 12 months following the date of the SEC order, May 20 2015....
