EU tech companies concerned about court opinion in Irish privacy case

Advocate General Yves Bot said that Ireland’s data-protection commissioner had a right to prevent Facebook from transferring the personal data of EU subscribers to servers in the US, despite a European Commission finding that US privacy safeguards are adequate. The outcome of the case could have a knock-on effect on other legal instruments underpinning the transfer of personal data outside the bloc, the technology sector association says....
