Lithuanian cinema merger review ends without approval over failure to provide data

( October 15, 2021, 08:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Lithuania's competition authority today said that it has dropped its review of plans by Estonian company MM Group to buy Forum Cinemas, which owns and operates cinemas in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai. This is the first time the agency had to halt a review in mid-process, after not receiving all the necessary information from the companies to assess the effects of the deal within the maximum suspension period, the office said. Since the merger-control investigation had to be terminated, the businesses won't be able to implement the deal, the watchdog clarified, otherwise they could face sanctions....
