Japanese building pile association report shows more cases of data fabrication

( December 29, 2016, 03:26 GMT | Insight) -- Sixteen construction-pile companies have used fabricated data for a total of 238 construction projects, the Nikkei newspaper reports, citing an updated report released by the nation's Concrete Pile Installation Technology Association. The buildings in which the data were used include schools, condominiums and medical facilities. The association conducted an investigation after the land ministry in November 2015 ordered it to do so after a condominium building in Yokohama was found to be structurally flawed. The association said, however, that there were no safety concerns. The association's latest report is an update on a similar study released in December last year. At the time, the association said that eight companies had fabricated data on 56 projects, according to the Nikkei. ...
