Jang had been accused of providing kickbacks to executives of the gas company when he headed up Tongyeong Tug between 2011 and 2013. He was appointed as the head of Korea Gas in July 2013. Executives who accepted bribes received suspended sentences of between six and 12 months, with additional fines of between 10 and 20 million won. But the court declared Jang not guilty of receiving 289 million won from Tongyeong Tug because the money could be considered a retirement bonus. ...
