Toyota Motor East Japan told to correct subcontract violation

( October 31, 2025, 08:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Toyota Motor East Japan received a corrective recommendation from the Japan Fair Trade Commission on Friday for violating the Subcontract Act. The competition regulator said the Miyagi-based automaker had required 10 subcontractors to store 440 metal molds without paying storage fees, and had refused to take delivery of 777 auto-parts items from seven subcontractors after placing orders without specifying shipment deadlines. The JFTC said the company’s conduct caused financial harm to the subcontractors.
