Tevra Brands motion for new US antitrust trial in tick treatments suit denied

( January 21, 2025, 23:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tevra Brands' motion for a new trial against Bayer Healthcare was denied by a US federal judge who ruled that a new trial is "not warranted to prevent a miscarriage of justice." In an order, US District Judge Beth Labson Freeman of the Northern District of California said that Tevra Brands' arguments were previously fully considered and rejected by the court in its Daubert analysis. "Having reviewed the prior order, Plaintiff’s arguments in this motion and the evidence admitted at trial, the Court concludes that there was no error," the order said. Freeman said the jury was free to consider all evidence admitted at trial. The jury found that Plaintiff had failed to meet its burden to prove relevant market existed. See attached document.
