UK lawsuit targeting Microsoft over cloud licensing multiplies market-probe risks

It's territory on which the US tech giant is already exposed, with the outcome due later this year of a market investigation by the UK competition watchdog into concerns over anticompetitive practices in cloud services. The lawsuit has yet to win trial approval, but the risk will multiply for Microsoft if the regulator's probe comes down hard on it.News that Microsoft faces a planned UK mass claim over its cloud licensing practices may be unwelcome for the US tech giant but perhaps not unexpected, given that it has seen its licensing operations in the crosshairs of rivals and regulators in the EU and the US (see here and here)....
